Held annually on the first Sunday of August since 1872, the Pioneer Picnic initially honored the first settlers and continues as an entertaining day of food, music and tours of artifacts housed in the Pioneer Cabin and museum. Attend the picnic, visit the one-room schoolhouse and Perry's first church building —which is also on the Pioneer grounds.
This year's event will be the 140th Pioneer Picnic -- it has been held annually since it's inception in the 1800s! This year's entertainment lineup is off to a great start, and this promises to be an excellent day -- the chicken BBQ will begin at 12pm.
