This summer, the Shake on the Lake (SOTL) Summer Theatre Festival brings national theatrical talent to set up stage outdoors on the shores of Silver Lake, New York for its second season. The company of Josh Rice, Katie Campbell, Courtney Bennett, Chad Bradford, Kelsie Craig, and Jordy Neill will perform The Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare.
Josh Rice (PRODUCING ARTISTIC DIRECTOR & AEGEON/COURTEZAN) is thrilled to be a part of bringing SOTL back to Perry for a second straight summer. Born and bred in Silver Lake, NY, Josh graduated from PCS in 1999. He earned his B.A. from SUNY Brockport in 2003, and is currently pursuing his M.F.A. in Theatre at Sarah Lawrence College in NYC.
NYC credits include performing in the International Toy Theatre Festival at St. Ann’s Warehouse and as an Artistic Associate on The Object Lesson at Lincoln Center Theatre. He just finished his sixth season at the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre where he directed an adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Other theater credits include Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, Geva Theatre Center, the Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre and The PUBLIC Theatre, where he was the founder of ImprovLittleRock.
After the success of last year’s inaugural production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged, Josh is excited to be presenting SOTL’s first full Shakespearean production of The Comedy of Errors. "Thanks to Pilar, KC, the Rice family, the ACWC, The Village of Perry, and the whole Perry/Silver Lake community for making art happen in our hometown!"
Katie Campbell (DIRECTOR) is a native North Carolinian but is an upstate New Yorker at heart and delighted to be a part of the Shake on the Lake creative team. In Little Rock, Arkansas, Katie served as a company actor, director and teaching artist with Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre, improviser with ImprovLittleRock and The Joint Venture, actor and director for the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, and co-founder and assistant director of the youth improv company Armadillo Rodeo.
She is currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts in Directing Theatre for Youth at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Recent directing credits include At Home, The Giver, and Noodle Doodle Box. She is also an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the North Carolina School of the Arts. She would like to thank JR for this opportunity, the Campbell-Bradley and Rice families for their love and support, the cast and crew for their amazing dedication and talent, and the Perry community for supporting SOTL and the art of live theatre.
Courtney Bennett (ADRIANA/ANGELO/DUKE) is originally from Arkansas, and received her B.A. in Theatre from the University of Central Arkansas. She spent time in New York City studying acting and movement techniques, then moved to Chicago where she studied circus and clowning.
While there she acted professionally, with one of her favorite roles being Dr. Stockmann in an adaptation of Ibsen's Enemy of the People with Jeff Award winning director, James Palmer. In 2010, she returned to the United States after receiving a Professional Training Certificate for Physical Theatre from the Accademia dell'Arte in Arezzo, Italy.
Chad Bradford (ANTIPHOLUS OF SYRACUSE/ANTIPHOLUS OF EPHESUS) couldn't be more thrilled to be back in Perry for the second season of Shake on the Lake! In addition to acting, Chad plans on eating many cheese curds at the Drive-In this summer.
Chad just finished up a season with the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre playing Edgar in King Lear and Bill Sykes in Oliver!, as well as writing music for SOTL Artistic Director Josh Rice's adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Selected other theatres include: the American Shakespeare Center/Blackfriar's Playhouse, Pennsylvania Center Stage, American Globe Theatre, Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival. Next year, Chad will head out on a National Tour of The Fantasticks playing El Gallo. Love to S, K, MJ, C, RJ.
"I'm honored to be back in Perry! Many thanks for supporting live theatre on Silver Lake!"
Kelsie Craig (LUCIANA/PINCH/AEMELIA) is thrilled to be part of Shake on the Lake this summer! Kelsie has had a great love of theatre since growing up in Northwest Arkansas and honed her acting in Central Arkansas after graduating from the University of Central Arkansas in 2007.
Kelsie hosted Conway Corporations The Channel 5 Kids Club from 2007-2011 where she got travel to space and tell jokes on a weekly basis.
Kelsie also got to play her heart out with ImprovLittleRock, whom she misses "doo run-running" with daily.
Kelsie now resides happily in Nashville, Tennessee and is a Teaching Artist for Wolf Trap Early Learning in the Arts and the Nashville Children's Theatre. Kelsie’s latest project is a hilarious short film called Lower Broads; look out for it this Fall.
Kelsie is very honored to be working with all her ole buddies on Silver Lake this summer. Love to Will, Ro, Barnabe, and of course, the Criggler.
Jordy Neill (DROMIO OF SYRACUSE/DROMIO OF EPHESUS) is elated to be spending his first summer with Shake on the Lake and all the talent that that entails.
Jordy studied at the University of Central Arkansas and is originally from Conway, AR.
He has worked with the Sonoma Valley Shakespeare Company, the Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre, and Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre.
