Chalk Art artists at work at the annual Chalk Art FestivalChalk Art artists at work at the annual Chalk Art FestivalThe first or second Saturday in July, the pavement comes alive as the area celebrates is artistic heritage and regional talent with a downtown festival coupled with a bike rally, a Main Street-wide Public Market, and the successful Perry Farmers' Market.

Enjoy live music all day as well as master chalkers creating pastel masterpieces on the sidewalks and kids compete for chalking prizes.

Downtown, Perry Farmers' Market and the Perry Public Market open on the corner of Borden and Main St. In addition to the usual high-quality produce and delicious homemade products, there are vendors and crafters of all kinds.

The weeklong celebration begins with Silver Lake's July 3 Ring of Fire at 9:30 and the 10 p.m. Fireworks Show. Fun continues at Silver Lake on July 4th with the Silver Lake boat parade at 2pm.

During the week, the Arts Council for Wyoming County [ www.artswyco.org ], hosts a Film Series event at its downtown headquarters and art gallery. Come the weekend, it’s the Perry Community Bike Ride or Tour de Perry, which starts at the Perry Village Park, Lake Street on Saturday morning, and ends at the Chalk Art Festival itself.
