Come brainstorm new ideas for Perry Main Street Association.

However, everyone - member and guest alike - is invited to this event which will detail upcoming events, recent accomplishments and solicit ideas for the future. Among these:

The Perry Main Street Association worked with the village to write a grant to the Genesee Transportation Council in 2006. We received the $50,000 grant, plus $5000 pledged by the Village, to hire consultants to work with the community on planning, design, and zoning recommendations for the downtown district. An empowerment coalition of over 100 local citizens committed to advocacy and action in support of downtown revitalization. Work includes promotion, rehabilitation, culture, long-range planning, recruitment. Membership is free. 3-4 public meetings per year keep the community abreast of activities and generate new ideas. Individual committees focus on specific projects.

Recent successes include a gateway signage program, a for-profit building rehabilitation organization, this website, securing of a grant to develop a Main Street Master Plan, and the launching of the Silver Lake Trail Association and a master plan for the recreation corridor linking downtown with Silver Lake and beyond.
